When there is a necessity in additional boost, the generators Boost Control Unit automatically uses charge from the internal twelve volt battery to produce extra amperage for about to ten seconds. The output is increasing so Yamaha EF3000iSEb in boost mode can be compared to a standart 3500-watt generator. That 10 seconds is enough to run some appliances that may require that extra boost to start running efficiently and quickly.
If you'll not be using that extra boost, than you can use the Yamaha Generator EF3000iSE. It includes all traits of the Yamaha EF3000iSEb except Boost Technology.
